Manager/Senior Manager – Business Development & Research

Have 6 – 10 years of relevant sales/business development experience in primary/secondary market research domains.

Graduate or Postgraduate (preferred).

Sector 48, Gurgaon (Haryana).

Looking for Manager/Senior Manager to create and generate a business line-up for end-to-end primary/secondary consumer market research (B2C or B2B) activities.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Overall driving the business development initiative for the company and focus on bringing new business from the new clients.
  • Conducting secondary research on companies and the industry verticals being targeted.
  • Complete accountability of the team’s P&L – client deliverables, engaging on client discussion from proposal stage to final report delivery within the pre-defined timelines and budget.
  • Guide client on best methodology to be adopted to resolve their business challenges.
  • Candidate is expected to understand client requirement and prepare proposals.
  • Mentor and train internal team on different tools and methodologies to conduct research.
  • Generating & maintaining database of companies for market research activities.
  • Reporting and coordinating day-to-day activities with junior team and with senior team on a weekly basis.
  • Creation of standard as also customized sales materials and sales kit in line with client requirements wherever required.
  • Identify suitable networking opportunities – events/ exhibitions which will have audience from targeted clients/ verticals.
  • Creating and monitoring social media campaigns of the company along with senior team members.
  • This role will have complete involvement from client development, client engagement, designing, control and successfully closure of the project.
  • This role will have business development targets and would be responsible for the team’s P&L.


Required Skills & Attributes:

  • Should have team handling, mentoring and training experience.
  • Should have strong communication skills (written + verbal) to understand prospective client requirements and convince them for a meeting and generate qualified business leads.
  • Should have skills to identify and establish connect with key decision makers in prospective clients.
  • Develop and maintain long lasting business relationships with clients.
  • Account handling and keeping track of sales pitch done by team and in parallel maintain a dialogue with the client in the form of sending newsletters/ articles of interest to the clients.
  • Should be aggressive in achieving the goals.
  • Should independently work on the desired set of goals.
  • Must have good knowledge in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Must work well in a team-oriented environment and must be results-driven.
  • Maintain a flexible attitude and perform other duties as required or as assigned.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Complete understanding of market research, primary/secondary data collection and other techniques and how the field and project management team operates.
  • Prior experience of working in a Market Research Agency is a MUST, exposure of working with an end client directly will be an added advantage.
  • Should be well versed with the key stream and the techniques involved therein – Quantitative/ Qualitative research for which they are applying for.
  • Experience across diverse segments like FMCG, Automotive, Consumer Durable, Education, Hospitality, BFSI, Healthcare/Pharma etc. and Business Research
